- Don't assume your child can floss properly. Children's underdeveloped dexterity skills make things like flossing more difficult. Help them learn by having them do it in front of you in a well-lit room.
- It's preferable to use waxed floss. Braces snatch non-wax floss, shredding the floss. Gently slide the floss between teeth and up into the gum line using a floss threader.
